G*PARK 'Yack Park' CD (US, Zabriskie Point, catalogue #POINT 6) Brand new / unplayed copy (all copies are new, some copies may be sealed, others may not have shrinkwrap on them) CD release of highly sophisticated and surreal musique concrete by Swiss sound-artist Marc Zeier, released in the year 1993 by yours truely on the Zabriskie Point label (which I ran in the 90's, releasing approximately seventeen seperate releases during that time, including a second G*Park CD titled 'Geopod' - see my other listing for its' availability.)

This was the second full-length G*Park release and the first to be released outside of Europe. His first full-length release was the excellent 'Seismogram' LP released by the amazing Schimpfluch label of Switerzland (home of remarkably extreme concrete and noise/music by Runzelstirn & Gurglestock, Sudden Infant, Wash Your Brains and numerous strangely packaged collaborative projects and compilations.) Zeier's concrete-sound compositions are amongst the best I have ever heard and I was very keen on making his recordings available to a greater audience. His editing is impeccable (brevity is the soul of wit - each piece, ranging from 1:21 to 6:19 lasts exactly as long as it needs to) with each piece, seperated by effective silence, leading into the next like a suite in 12 movements. The recordings on this disc are made up of what sounds to be mostly electro-acoustic and found sounds captured in various environments and re-assembled into very surreal sounding (sometimes occasionaly jarring) pieces. The total is almost dreamlike (very bizarre dreams at that.) His sound is something like the perfect mid-section between the intuitive and academic aspects of musique concrete/concrete music and perhaps best described as being akin to a combination of sensibilities of Selektion label artist (some of the darker, slightly unsettling pieces by P16.D4., SBOTHI/Swimming Behaviour Of The Human Infant) and the more enigmatic recordings of Nurse With Wound and others of the early United Dairies label roster.
