since most people have never heard of Brainchild/Circle of Dust here is a great review that explains it perfectly:

Like their self-titled debut, Circle of Dust's second album is also a genre classic. Also, like the previous release, two versions of this recording were made. However, the differences are not as radical and mainly consist of new mixes of a couple different songs. Originally a side project, the Brainchild moniker was dropped on the re-release, which was retitled as a Circle of Dust album.
Musically, Brainchild is top-notch industrial-metal. Walls of crunchy, screaming guitars and pounding drum programming mix with imaginative electronic effects and well-placed samples. Scott Albert's vocals are also a bit harsher and louder than on the previous release, but are still mostly understandable and show surprising diversity as they range from melodic singing to deathlike growls on some songs.

Like all other CoD releases, virtually all of the songs on this release stand out. My personal favorites are the futuristic cyber-metal of "Regressor (Aggressive mix)" and "Course of Ruin". The ultra-heavy "Enshrined", "Cranial Tyrant", and "Descend" are classic mosh pit hits, and "Pale Reflection" is a creative mix of samples from the sci-fi classic Blade Runner.

Lyrically, the album addresses many social issues and often gets political, as shown by samples in "Descend" and "Telltale Crime". Issues like abortion, nuclear testing, and euthanasia are frequently brought up, while "Deviate" deals with gang violence and racism and "Descend" speaks out about the decline of society. "Prayers of a Dead Man", meanwhile, gives the listener a vivid look at a person about to commit suicide.

Brainchild's blunt yet creative lyrics and intense yet imaginative music make it a classic. Circle of Dust once again does a great job showcasing their talents as one of the best industrial bands ever.
